Installation Estimate for a BAi System

For our purpose MSRP is a suggested price a property should pay on our equipment. Our value added resellers are free to charge more or less than this amount.

Pricing on our equipment can and will vary but should be close to the MSRP we have prescribed. We determine MSRP based on regular surveys with our partners to get an accurate idea of what the majority charge on our equipment.

Current MSRP on the BA-440 DualBeam Barcode Reader is $4,995.82 which includes a transferable 2 year limited manufacturers warranty, the reader, mounting post, enclosure, and power supply.

Current MSRP on the Barcode Decals start at $5.15 a decal, some older formats cost more.

Installation costs can vary significantly from factors such as:

Is power already in place?
Is there a suitable concrete pad by each entrance?
Are conduits going to need to be run to the system?
What additional expectations does the property have that may mean other equipment/software?

Okay, but ballpark what would it cost to install?

The point of this page is to explain we can't provide you with an estimate. We can only tell you what the actual hardware MSRP is and strongly encourage you to receive a quote on BAi products from a licensed, insured, and trained installer.

Why do you publish MSRP if you don't enforce it?

We publish for two reasons:

To ensure we, the manufacturer, remain a single source of truth about our products. MSRP on our equipment found anywhere else, may or may not be up to date or accurate.
To qualify referrals and save everyone some time.

How does this compare to other automatic vehicle identification systems?

We are the only manufacturer creating a laser based automatic vehicle identification system. As such our closest competitors are radio based offerings (RF-ID) of which there are many. Many RFID products use a loss-leader pricing strategy where in the reader itself is relatively inexpensive, but the credentials cost significantly more.

Over time depending on the number of Readers to number of Vehicles you will likely save significant amounts of money using BAi Readers and Decals for your access control system. If in the above example you keep the system for 15 years and require 50 new credentials a year that adds up to 750 more credentials at $3,862.50 for BAi vs $11,250 for Headlamp RFID.
